July Plot Post & Announcements
As of this post, the two invading groups of aliens have been subdued and captured. As per the players' vote, these aliens will be kept on the station as captives. The network can now be accessed through each character's passport bracelets in order to make new posts and responses to others.
However, because of the events of the last week, Knowhere is not in the condition it once was. Beneath the cut you will find information about this month's events, as well as OOC announcements.
OOC ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Because of the game's grand opening, there will be no activity check for June. The first activity check will take place from July 24-31. At this point, players will provide activity from the last week of June as well as the entirety of July.
2. The network is now active! Players are now welcome to make their own posts to both
knowhere and
knowhen. For network posts, please specify what type (text, voice, hologram) in the subject header, and for logs, please use the header format listed in the profile of that comm.
JULY PLOT: REPAIR KNOWHERE
Following the attacks of late June, the station of Knowhere is damaged and nearly deserted. Characters now have access to their barracks, the marketplace, the observation deck, Starlin's and Continuum Cortex, as well as the hallways between.
A Kree man by the name of H'rry will be available to answer the transport's questions. However, his answers won't be very helpful. Yes, the characters are now hosts of a shard of an Infinity Gem. No, this cannot be removed. Yes, the Continuum Cortex should be able to send characters home. However, its capabilities were significantly damaged in the attacks, and for now it can only draw in new transports.
Additionally, many of the inhabitants of Knowhere fled during the attacks-- taking their spaceships and other transport with them. There is currently no way off of the station, and many of the shops and residences of the station have been abandoned.
H'rry's announcement makes a few things clear: one, the Storage Crystal is vastly important, and must be found. Second, no transport will have access to the captives unless they make a convincing case. Third, the station itself and the Continuum Cortex must be repaired.
1. FIND THE STORAGE CRYSTAL
2. NOT-SO-DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
3. CAN WE FIX IT?
4. WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
QUICK FACTS
1. The network and certain aspects of the station are now open for use/exploration.
2. Characters who wish to search for the Storage Crystal must remain in the search zone for at least one week.
3. Characters must submit a case below if they wish to have access to the prisoners.
4. The Continuum Cortex and station must both be repaired; each of these tasks will have IC consequences.
5. A status-update will appear on July 28, along with the next stage of plotting.
As ever, this post may be used for player plotting! Please direct any questions to the mods under the correct heading below, and use the appropriate headers to submit cases to H'rry and sign up to repair the Continuum Cortex. Have fun!

According to H'rry, the Storage Crystal may have been taken to the area beyond the Observation deck-- into the brain of Knowhere. Unfortunately, this is also the area that has been most effected by the aberrations in space/time. This area of Knowhere is almost entirely unnavigable, with inconsistent twists and turns. There's no accurate way to map this area, but the Storage Crystal must be found.
Characters who choose to brave this area of the station will be lost for at least 7 days. They will still have access to the network through their bracelets, but will be unable to make their way back to the main part of the station for at least a week (and therefore cannot take part in other action/logs for this week).
Characters are allowed to and encouraged to pool their efforts and create expedition teams, or encounter one another within the maze.
2. NOT-SO-DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
The two groups of alien attackers are now be held by H'rry and the rest of the Cortex's staff at an undisclosed location. If characters wish to see these captives--to speak to them, or anything else--they must make their case to H'rry. He is unlikely to condone torture and will look for a valid reason--something that will get the transports closer to repairing space/time. Groups of transports will be more likely to be allowed access than individuals; H'rry wants to promote cooperation.
Players who wish to have access to information on these attackers must state their case in the comments below. Starting on July 7, players will be informed if their case has been accepted. These players will then receive specified information that their characters will be able to discover and share with other transports.
3. CAN WE FIX IT?
Characters with technological know-how or a willingness to learn will be encouraged to help repair the Continuum Cortex. As this is an endlessly complicated device, the repairs are slow-going and will suffer many setbacks. Characters should be advised that small-scale explosions. Additionally, as the characters begin to make progress, the teleporting capabilities of the Cortex will come back online. Unfortunately, until the Cortex is fully repaired, these capabilities will be erratic.
Characters who sign up to repair the Cortex may find themselves randomly transported to other parts of the station, including the area where the Storage Crystal has been lost and other uncharted aspects of Knowhere.
The bulk of these repairs will be done between July 7-21.
Additionally, the rest of the station must be repaired! These are more mundane damages and any character should be able to help. Doing so may result in rewards for your character later on.
4. WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
On July 28, the Cortex staff will make an IC announcement about the characters' progress. Depending on how the meetings with the captives, search for the Crystal, and repairs go, this may have different outcomes. Look out for an OOC post with more information closer to that date!

I'm thinking this is a good chance to use one for various reasons but want to know if there's any limitations!

Also the search for the storage crystal, can those seven days be anywhere between the 7th and the 28th? Or is there a set time frame?
If so, THIRD QUESTION just in case. Do those 7 days have to be consecutive? Say you want to tag two different people searching for the crystal but they're searching on opposite ends of the date range? Can you split up your 7 days, or can you only tag one of them?
THE CASE FOR CAPTIVES
Remember that "torturing them for information" isn't a case likely to be approved!
Re: THE CASE FOR CAPTIVES
Do I have to make a case here or how am I to do this now?

REPAIR THE CONTINUUM CORTEX

She's got training in theoretical physics and probably a decent grounding in some of the other sciences (since after her stint as a student in that field she went on to also be a nurse at an elementary school). She's also a fast learner so will pick up on things quickly and is certainly VERY curious about the cortex and how it functions.
:3 I'd love to start building up her civilian CR since so far all she's done is go around kicking ass.

Also, I'm sending him to look for the crystal, since I'll be incommunicado for 4 days anyway, from the 3rd til the 7th.

And she'll be sticking to that area over the next few days to help with repairs. So I'm up for anything :3

Bones will want to make it in to see the captives; he'll likely make a case for treating them humanely, as he's a doctor. But he's also a scientist, and will want to ask questions about their biology and how their powers work. Any science types want to join in on this effort?
As for the rest, I'm thinking about signing him up to repair the Cortex. He's not liking to join the search efforts on his own, but he could be persuaded to join other groups!
And as for general plotting, if anyone in the Green barracks wants to talk living arrangements and floormate things, I am here for you.
DAMIAN |
Damian will want to join the search first thing. It's a single goal he can move towards, and he'll likely latch onto that. I'd love to get a group together so that they can have a bit of an expedition party? And perhaps we could plot some meetings for before they set out, too!
He'll probably ask to see the prisoners, but would want to punch them for information so I can't really see him getting through. Depending on what else I set up for him, he might pick a project or two on the main section of the station to work on.
I'd also really like to start experimenting with his power, so if anyone wants to deal with a ten-year-old with superstrength? And Red barracks people should set stuff up with me, too!

She's also going to be spending a lot of time in the Cortex figuring out how things work, so another bonding moment there.
And if nothing else works there's always the fact they will be floormates. So lots of opportunity for CR all around and honestly they'd probably bump into each other since it's looking like they'll have a lot of the same places to occupy.

GAMORA won't be doing anything useful. The last time she was sent to talk to captives she murdered them all instead, so that's right out. If anyone wants to talk to a disinterested green woman who's busy poking around the parts of the station she can recognize and the parts that are new, hit me up.

LOKI GEN PLOTTING GO.
1) loki has a few questions for their new captors that he'll want to have answered.
2) he'll also want to run off to find the storage crystal, but i think he's really more interested in exploring then he is ... actually finding the crystal itself. (you guys definitely all want fake "captain's logs" on the network, don't you?)

Also open to having her teleported to random places when that all starts up. So if you want a magical girl dropped on you that way I am all for it (once that aspect of the plot opens up).

Drift
He may go in with Wing and inevitably get separated because that's the way these things work. I'd love to get more cross-canon CR for him, so bring me your robot/human adventures. Well..."human". It's relative.
He also has a hardlight human avatar that I think I'll employ during this assuming the anomalies in the brain don't mess with it. Which...might actually be funny. SO you have the option of running into a giant robot or an extremely normal looking Asian lady while lost in the brain maze.
ANY OTHER GENERAL PLOTTING? Feel free to hit me up!

Dick Grayson | DC Comics | general plotting
Through July he’ll be eager to get to exploring and he’s the type of enthusiastic team player that would actively seek out some people to work with for that purpose. He’s also likely to be really meticulous with mapping and tracking at first before he figures out that all of his efforts are for naught. He’ll make an attempt to get in to talk to the prisoners, and he’ll be looking for smaller tasks around the station that he can take on while he’s working on adjusting. If anyone wants to plot individual meetups I’d be down for that too!

Newt Geiszler
He's educated in a variety of hard sciences, including engineering! He'll definitely be helpful.
After he gets some rest for probably like a full day and lots of food, he'll want to join in repairing and exploring the base. And I'm also up for any casual fun times. I think I'm the only Mind Gem? But, hey, he won't object to visiting a few people.
Veronica Mars
I'd be happy to have her either watch and try to figure out questions for them or brainstorm with others on this. Or even give trying to question them a go on her own. Either way, yes. She needs a little rest and some answers of her own from whoever she can get it, then she can toss herself headfirst into questioning the stupid aliens that tried to kill her. Jerks.
