JULY PLOT WRAPUP, AUGUST PLOT, ITEM RECLAIMS
Congratulatons! Knowhere is up and running at full capacity thanks to everyone's efforts - and with that comes more information and changes in the setting as well as the plot for August. Please read everything under the cut.
JULY PLOT WRAP UP
Congratulations! Someone has managed to grab the storage crystal as well as fix the Cortex! In doing so, everyone on the station will now find that it is suddenly populated. A healthy group of roughly 10,000 various NPCs now roam around Knowhere, and characters may interact with them as they wish.
There are three facts about Knowhere that these general NPCs will give when asked:
Furthermore, the prisoners have been a little forthcoming with information, and the information below is for Megatron and Jason Todd to use as they see fit:
SO. With Knowhere saved and the Cortex brought online, that brings us to --
(LATE) AUGUST PLOT
17th-24th
So what do you do when you've got your teleportation tech up and running? You use it! August 17th will begin with an IC announcement. In sum- everyone is headed towards an insignificant planet whether they want to or not.
PLANET 10952.EG.K
Think "Great Plains" when you think of this planet, called EG.K by those working in the Cortex. Almost completely flat with only a few small villages, EG.K is uninteresting at best and boring at worst. Covered in purple and turquoise prairie grass, there's a constant breeze of warm air that sometimes picks up speed to 50 mph. Lakes are rare, but surprisingly cool for anyone who wants to take a dip in the crystal clear water.
Why are you here? The short answer is: something is wrong with the planet, and your hosts want you to find out what's up with this seemingly peaceful planet. The locals in the closest village are all supernaturally nice and welcoming - there's no translation problems thanks to the passport bracelets, and they'll answer as honestly and as openly as they can.
The information they'll be able to give characters is this:
Traveling to the village will find it completely erased from the map, a fissure having opened up where it used to be. Unfortunately the moment anyone with a passport bracelet gets near it, a signal will be sent back to Knowhere and Cortex staff will swarm and not let anyone get within ten feet of the edge of the fissure. Sounds can be heard coming from it, however - your typical space battle futuristic type sounds, although the fissure itself is a swirl of bright colors. Nearby, however, is a data slug that looks far too advanced to have come from the world as it is, but perhaps not the world through the fissure.
If you'd like your character to find either the data slug or the fissure, please comment to the comment labeled CHARACTER SIGN UP and we will roll for which characters will do what. Anyone who gets the data slug will get a PM of the information contained on it, and it is up to the player to use how that information however they see fit.
Characters will be on this planet for a week while the Cortex staff figure out what to do about the problem they've found - housing will be provided for those characters who need it, otherwise it's outside camping and stargazing for the rest of them.
An OPEN LOG will be created, like the first event, with subheaders for each of the main areas of this plot. If you have questions, please ask at the QUESTIONS comment. Players may use the PLOTTING section of this post to plot with each other!
ITEM REGAIN
Everyone who passed AC gets one free item reclaim this month, regardless of how many points you have stacked up as a way to apologize for the rocky start. Items must not be able to influence the metaplot of the game in any significant way - if you would like an item you think could tip the scales please contact the mods through the player plot page and we will see what can be worked out.
Please fill out the form below and reply to the Item Regain comment!
Characters may find their items any time after responding in the Marketplace Level - how much they pay for it, or if they pay for it at all, is up to the players. Extraordinarily large items may be found elsewhere on the station, but characters should still purchase their items from someone who has a picture of it in the level. Again, questions should be directed to the appropriate thread.

There are three facts about Knowhere that these general NPCs will give when asked:
1) That Knowhere is an observation point/way station for the edge of the universe.
2) That the thing right outside the head? That's the Rip, and that's where all of space and time is coming together.
3) One day the station will be consumed by the Rip.
Furthermore, the prisoners have been a little forthcoming with information, and the information below is for Megatron and Jason Todd to use as they see fit:
+ The members of the remaining two main groups do not know who they were working for, they were hired by a third party to gave them their orders.
+ Their primary goal was information and control. They obviously failed at the latter, but what they were looking for and if they found it is unknown at this time.
+ Things come through the Rip all the time; this is the first time it has ever been controlled in some form.

The information they'll be able to give characters is this:
1) Their world was not always this perfect - they talk of an event thousands of years ago that created the (extremely fertile) world everyone currently lives on.
2) There is a village about three miles south that they haven't heard anything from in a few months, and everyone they have sent there has yet to return.
3) Before the Event, life was less peaceful. They don't know the details of what happened, only that the Event saved them all from 'evil'.
Traveling to the village will find it completely erased from the map, a fissure having opened up where it used to be. QUESTIONS
IS THIS AN ITEM
They can't communicate with humans though, and the cat... really does seem to be a cat when shown with Robbie. CAN HE HAVE HIS CAT??

Re: QUESTIONS
Anyway, so would explorers moving toward where the village (now fissure/dataslug) is find anything of the other indigenous people sent before them? Their bodies? Their gear? OMINOUS JOURNALS?
no subject
No bodies, but you could probably find traces of their gear - nothing telling, just the normal stuff people tend to leave behind while traveling towards a destination.

PLOTTING

GAMORA will actually take this time to go swimming in one of the lakes because screw actually doing whatever she was dragged here to do. Unless Peter Quill actually mentions what's up and then she might get interested. 'Interested'. Otherwise she's not got much going on of interested on this planet. There's not a lot to kill and that's boring.
no subject
NOTHING THEY'RE DECORATIVE ...STOP PUSHING BUTTONS
/honks horn
also swimming i guess
no subject
yeah maybe that's a thing people do we just don't know
no subject
yeah, once it's clear there's nothing happening, nita's going to make a beeline for the water.
no subject
So, obviously, there must be at least one night of campfire spooky stories (and hopefully one of the human types will intro to the robots the whole 'campfire camping scary stories' thing?)
Human companions/travel buddies welcome, of course!
He wants to see a lake because, well, he's never seen one.
no subject
Camping and spooky stories, sign me up! Drift has one about spark eaters,
but Rodimus tells it better. Well, louder anyway.Oh, and zombies. That's a pretty not!rad story. My kingdom for the robot version of s'mores please. /grabbyhands
no subject
And Wing will probably be all wide eyed and excited about these adventure tales! :D
no subject
Actually he might steer clear of the diseased zombie one. He does not have an especially heroic role in that one. And he kinda spoilered it already.
HOWEVER, clearly Drift needs to himself all dusty and grassified on the way to lake exploration times so there's a reason to push his aft in.
no subject
He's gonna be down for camping things with Wing because this whole scenario is slightly creepy and safety in numbers and such. Not that he'll admit to that, he's just here to protect all of you. *points at the crowd of people who are more than capable of protecting themselves.*
no subject
Also she will badger anyone with a car altmode for rides. PS. She can't drive but it won't stop her from trying.
no subject
She'll most likely stay out camping - too much time cooped up on a space station
and in hellwithout the real sky, so she likes the open air.Re: PLOTTING
